Holiday(s)

This will be a little update on my recent holiday. Two months and half months ago, we went to Hong Kong in Oct 2010 and we bought the ticket even before Tyler was born. Then I got pregnant and postponed the ticket and finally after not traveling for so long, so really looked forward to a HOLIDAY, yipee, without Tyler and I could have a break from being a mummy a while.

So, we stayed over in KL a night before flying to Hong Kong as Air Asia do not have connecting flight on the same day. We had a chance to meet up with Cindy and Loon.

Cindy & I at Chilies, Midvalley

Both Cindy and Loon were very very hospitable, fetching us all the way from LCCT, and bringing us around the city and also visited their penthouse (currently under renovation). The next day, we would take our flight to Hong Kong in the afternoon and they were so nice again to fetch us to the airport and fed us well before boarding the plane. Oh yes, they brought us to this really nice dim sum place and they served a wide variety of dim sum, we enjoyed our brunch very much.

On the way to the airport, there was a massive jam on the road to LCCT, which was really near LCCT and we were worried that we would miss our flight. And Cindy was really really nice to call up Air Asia to inform them of our delay and told them to hold the plane, hahahahah isn't she a sweetie? I'd definitely not forget this incident!

Anyway, we arrived at the airport, and Cindy made sure we checked in safely and sent us to the boarding gate and then we began our holiday (second honey moon)...

We happily arrived Hong Kong International Airport at 5.30pm, then waited for our luggage at the luggage claim belt, waited... waited and waited... till around 7.00pm, still no sign of our luggage. Damn.... lodged complaint to the baggage services and we were told that they will send us our luggage, once our luggage reaches Hong Kong. I was stressed, really stressed, having absolutely nothing with me! What a holiday right?

Well, tried to keep the lugagge problem aside and still enjoy the holiday coz God knows when will our next holiday be? We had to buy everything new...

Hubby got me this LV handbag for our 2nd anniversary with my initials printed =)

I, however, got him an Ipad for our anniversary too =P

We stayed in Hotel benito, Tsim Sha Shui, which is located just 1 minute away from the MTR station, extremely convinient, with shops and restaurants at every corner!

We managed to stay a night in Hong Kong Disneyland Hollywood Hotel, and the rooms are so big and the decorations made you feel so young again, just like living on a fantasy world.

Throughtout our stay in Hong Kong, we did not manage to get our lugagge back, so we came back home with new sets of clothes, our electronic chargers and everything is new, and we made complaints to Air Asia, but their services was so bad that they pushed me from one department to another and I ended up lodging a complaint against them to NCCC (National Consumers Complaint Centre) http://www.nccc.gov/ and boy, they responded to my case almost instantly and they found my luggage on the 1st November 2010 (3 weeks) late. The funny thing is my luggage got to travel all the way to Hong Kong too... hmmmm...

Definitely I was not satisfied even I got my baggage back 3 weeks late, complaint to NCCC again for compensation and they compensated me with free ticket to Hong Kong again! heheheheh that's why my recent trip was to Hong Kong again in Jan 2011.

It was winter in January 2011, with the average of 10 degrees everyday while we were there. I love the weather! However, after I got back, I've got cracked skin on my legs =( Hubby was feeling feverish on the second day, staying in bed the whole day, while I strolled along Tsim Sha Tsui alone.

On the third day, hubby recovered from his fever and started out adventure in Hong Kong. First, we had breakfast in Pret A Manger, hubby has been saliva-ing to eat eat there since our last visit in Oct 2010. They are known to served freshly wrapped sandwiches and that breakfast cost a bomb too.

After that, we went to take the 'Big Bus Tour Company' at the Central Pier, where they bring tourist to places of interest. For more information, you may go to this site http://www.bigbustours.com We took the Stanley Tour (Green Route), there were also Central Tour (Red Route) and Kowloon Tour (Blue Route). We've covered almost all of Kowloon and also Central, therefore Stanley Tour would be appropriate for us to venture around. That package cost us HKD180.00 per person and it's a hop on and off (free and easy) tour, in an open deck bus.

We went through Aberdeen, Repulse Bay and we stopped by Stanley Market. There are variety of shops selling gifts and souvenirs as well as clothes. We bought most of Tyler's stuff there and the prices were reasonable.

After the tour, they dropped us back in the Central and Hubby wanted to try this famous restaurant known for its Roasted Goose, so we took a cab there. We had lunch at Yung Kee Restaurant (http://www.yungkee.com.hk/whatsnew/whatsnew-e.html). Being a tourist, we didn't know what to order, so we thought ordering the set meal would save us the hassle of going through each and every item in the menu. We took the HKD860 set meal, coause Hubby said eating there might cost us HKD1000, so we thought the set meal was a good deal. The food was good, but not worth the price, at the end of the lunch, the total bill cost HKD1001.00 Apart from the set meal, we had 2 dim sum dish as well. But we went back the next day for lunch again, this time we ordered from the menu, we had 3 main dish and 1 dessert cost us HKD535, with bigger portion and it was a better deal =)

Tyler was super clingy the next day we were back =)
